For years athletes have been searching for ways to improve their performance. Some athletes choose to use stimulants, such as caffeine or ephedra. Others use steroids, growth hormone and insulin in their quest for greater performance. Then there are those who try even more hazardous things, such as blood doping, to increase endurance by getting more oxygen to the blood stream.
